ID Quantique continues global growth with new offices in USA and South Korea
ID Quantique (IDQ) has recently expanded to new regions: America and Asia Pacific, with the opening of new offices in Washington and Seoul.
This marks a new stage in the global strategy of the company and it will enable ID Quantique to better respond to the high interest in quantum technologies worldwide.
Bringing Quantum-Safe Security to Washington DC
IDQ already opened an office in Boston in 2017 to address the Quantum Sensing market and now the company has established presence in Washington, with a team dedicated to Quantum-Safe Security activities.
“Quantum communications technologies will play a significant role in securing our data and communications, both in backbone networks and at the edge, in an era where the quantum computer will render vulnerable much of today’s cryptography,” said Dr. Grégoire Ribordy, CEO and Co-Founder of IDQ.
“America knows it has an important role to play. We see more and more interest from American companies. As a proof, the recent National Quantum Initiative Act, the new federal program to advance quantum technologies and related applications over a 10 year period and the recent publication of America’s National Cybersecurity Strategy.”
Quantum R&D in Asia
With the opening of a local subsidiary in Seoul, IDQ intends to address new markets and to continue to strengthen its position in Asia, in partnership with strategic investor SK Telecom. South Korea is evaluated the world’s most innovative country1 and has actively promoted Quantum Information and Communication technologies over the past years. This forward-thinking approach has positioned South Korea as an early adopter of quantum cryptography.
IDQ now has three key centres of research & development: Geneva, Bristol and Seoul and aims to accelerate the development of leading-edge solutions to meet new market needs and to concretely achieve current and future projects.
The company will continue to develop core quantum technologies and to provide the most innovative solutions for high potential industrial markets to reinforce its position of global leader in Quantum-Safe Security and Quantum Sensing technologies.
