ID Quantique launches the ID Qube ULN
Introducing the ID Qube ULN (Ultra-Low Noise) in the ID Qube Series: a compact, cost effective and powerful InGaAs/InP SPAD for operations in the NIR region and optimized for Telecom wavelengths.
The Qube ULN enables mobile and rapidly deployable high-performance single-photon detection. The unprecedented low noise of this new ID Qube model makes it ideal to extend the reach of QKD networks, to support the development of photonic quantum technologies, and to enhance the SNR for imaging in the near-infrared. ID Quantique has been hard at work on this new product. Years of work on the design of the device enables a substantial reduction of the Dark Count Rate (DCR) to less than 200 Hz. This was achieved while keeping the recognized ID Qube Series form factor. The newcomer builds upon the successful experience of the many units that have already delivered impactful results in research labs and industry alike over the last 5 years.
The ID Qube ULN has an adjustable detection efficiency from 10% with less than 200 Hz of DCR, up to 25% with less than 1200 Hz. This represents a DCR reduction of 60% compared to the current offering. The optical coupling is achieved via a Multi-Mode Fiber allowing for the easiest integration in all optical setups. The intuitive GUI facilitates installation and operation. Unpack and start counting.
The new ID Qube ULN bridges the performance offering of ID Quantique’s line of SPADs. It fits between the ID230 and the ID Qube LN (Low Noise) and ID Qube STD (Standard), thus allowing ID Quantique to offer a continuous range of performances for quantum photonics developments where cost-effectiveness matters.
