IDQ enables successful 100Gbps IPSec VPN demo at JPMorgan Chase
ID Quantique (IDQ) is delighted to have contributed to JPMorgan Chase‘s successful implementation of a high-speed quantum-safe and crypto-agile network (Q-CAN) over 46km of telecom network in Singapore.
In this experimental set-up, the JPMorgan Chase team deployed IDQ’s Clavis XGR QKD system coupled with the Clarion KX software platform for the orchestration and management of out-of-band quantum-key delivery in real time between two data centers, ensuring secure key delivery to the encryption appliances.
The team behind the Q-CAN’s employed an innovative way of using quantum key distribution to secure multiple independent, high-speed virtual private networks (VPNs) traversing a single 100 Gbps fiber connecting the data centers. The demonstration also showcased the stability of both IDQ’s QKD systems and the VPN tunnels, supporting the finding that in such deployments, QKD integration achieves enhanced security without sacrificing performance.
This demonstration is part of JPMorgan Chase’s dual remediation strategy for defense in depth approach to quantum-safe, incorporating both post-quantum cryptography and QKD.
It is great to see that JPMorgan Chase has taken QKD out of their lab showcasing the technology is mature for financial institutions to immediately protect their sensitive data,’ said Grégoire Ribordy, CEO of ID Quantique. ‘We will continue to bring our support and experience to help them migrate to a quantum-safe stance.
