QKD Certification & Standardization manager

To strengthen our leadership position in QKD markets and develop a world-leading and recognized security certification framework for the quantum industry, we’re looking for a QKD Certification & Standardization manager who will drive this activity between our R&D and the industry leaders, as well as the various international and/or governmental organizations worldwide. This position requires a very good technical knowledge in the domain and sharp interpersonal/communication skills to influence the industry to build a strong, secure and logical path for the future of Quantum communications.
Key functions and responsibilities
- Drive various QKD Security Certification programs internally and internationally, including interaction with IDQ customers
- Follow and contribute to the various ETSI/ITU Quantum Certification/standardization efforts and establish a strategic vision for the company
- Drive selected technical projects linked with our partners or governments
- Contribute to System Characterization of QKD Systems (Hardware/Photonics)
- Contribute to the definition and architecture of specific QKD Features (Hardware/photonics)
Desired skills and experience
- PhD in Quantum Physics or equivalent, but background in optics/photonics is a must
- Industry experience in the Quantum communication field, preferably linked to QKD systems
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in security certification processes/standards
- Experience in dealing with suppliers/contractors and customers
- Interested in pursuing hands-on R&D activities on technical systems, incl. system characterization or writing/executing test procedures
- Quick learner and ability to interact with our best R&D people
- Very good interpersonal skills and good communicator, at ease with speaking in public or in front of customers
- Minimum of 3-5 years already spent in the quantum industry
